Laren is a composer of electronic, contemporary film and theatre music. He composes music for theatre performances (around 45 shows), film productions, animated films, dance performances, exhibitions and art installations. In 2013, he obtained a certificate in audio engineering from the SAE Institute in Ljubljana, and in 2016 he completed a master's degree in composition for screen at the University of Edinburgh. He regularly collaborates with Slovenian theatres. His original musical Turandot was staged at the Ljubljana City Theatre in 2021. He also composed the music for the animated series Little Wonderers for the Hong Kong-based Chinese production company Insight Studios.
