As an independent promoter, agent and label manager, Koen has been involved in the European underground for two decades. He co-founded the Subroutine label and initiated Yugofuturism, exchanging adventurous acts from the CEE region, from the Balkans to the Baltic, with the Netherlands. Currently, he is also a lecturer at the University of Groningen, manager of the emerging Dutch post-punks Tramhaus, external programmer at Peel Slowly and See festival and the venues WORM Rotterdam and OCCII Amsterdam, and frequent speaker at European conferences. In 2023, he started the nomadic festival Vikendica, visiting three iconic venues in a weekend.
