Sardinia-born Daniela Pes is a singer-songwriter, musician and composer with a jazz background, a factor that has allowed her to grow artistically in absolute freedom. Singing in a made-up language, her deeply touching, rhythmically and vocally complex music almost possesses a religious character. By blending tradition with an avantgardist approach in the Franco Battiato mould, she conjures a sound that is utterly transportative and timeless. Her debut album Spira was rightly described by Onda Rock as one of the most surprising Italian records of 2023.
