EXPERIMENTAL / AMBIENT / DRONE
Manu Retamero is an engineer by training and sound experimenter by passion. He is a core member of the Eurorack manufacturer Befaco where he works as a designer and instructor, and also he runs the Barcelona-based Synth Vicious label. In 2023, he released his first solo LP, a continuation of his exploration of drone, glitchy and noisy sonorities marked by thick layers of dark and oppressive frequencies. Retamero makes the best use of the “damaged” parts of the machinery employed in the production process, exploring and exploiting their flaws in a most exciting and innovative way.
