The Qualitons (Hungary)
“Hungary’s The Qualitons rejuvenate beat era psychedelia so furiously that The Red Hot Chili Peppers once begged them not to split up (long story)…”
These masters of progressive psychedelia with a very distinctive story are deservedly becoming a household name in European rock music. Starting a decade ago as a jazz-funk collective, they later absorbed influences of 60s and 70s mod rock and developed a harder, garage-tinged sound. Their third full length “Echoes Calling”, considered by many Hungarian journalists album of 2018, won them a performance at SXSW and, above all, an unforgettable live session at the legendary Seattle-based KEXP radio.
