Perestroika (Latvia)

ART ROCK

"Memorial Server is full of well-crafted art rock numbers, in which great importance has been placed on every nuance, phrase and intonation. Besides this bold claim about the record, I would also say that Perestroika have managed to raise the roof in their few, but impressive live performances." Uldis Rudaks, Mūzikas Saule

Perestroika is a contemporary shadow play. Thematically oriented towards the meta-analysis of digital and mental spaces, the band bends genres and styles with the aim to convey something resembling a truth. The core of Perestroika is Leo Novus and Rūdolfs Ozols. At live shows, the duo is joined on stage by Aleksandrs Barons, Alise Golovacka and Dāvis Mazurenko. Although self-described as an art rock act, Perestroika refrains from limiting itself to the restrictions of any specific genre. The band’s first album memorial server, released in October, was nominated for the Latvian annual award for music recordings Golden Microphone 2023 in the categories Best Debut Album of the Year and Best Indie or Alternative Music Album.
