Belvoir is a Paris-based experimental pop project connecting the dots between French chanson and electronic beats with industrial accents. The duo’s exploratory arrangements blur the definition of the modern pop song, colliding nervous drum machines with bubbly synth melodies in a dense magma of shouting, anger and noise. Their debut album Nouvel Anormal, which came out in 2022, evokes the post-industrial digital era, the body-crushing violence of the metropolis and of nights under surveillance. The music is transfixed by declamatory politico-poetic chants, adding the emotive depth of classic chanson to their modern sound.
