Lenart De Bock is a promising young saxophonist with a distinct style. He was born in 1998 in Ghent, but he’s spent most of his life in Ljubljana. Currently, he’s studying at the Jazz Institute in Graz in the class of Julian Argüelles. He’s an author, the bandleader of the Bock Trio and member of various projects, for example, equilibrium as insta_bility, code::source and Mencarija. He also regularly collaborates with other Slovenian and international musicians. In 2021, he’s the resident musician at the educational workshop Young Explorers IV under the mentorship of Dré Hočevar. As part of this project, he’ll present his new compositions and perform with a large ensemble. His ensemble comprises Daniel Šimek (accordion), Domen Kužnar (viola), Neža Okorn (vocals), Samo Cizej (electronic bass), Luka Hren (drums) and Klemen Kocijančič (piano).
